It all started when I was a kid. I was (and still am) a daddy’s girl. I would never let him out of my sight. We perused auctions, flea markets, and antique stores since I could walk. We could always sniff out a treasure. Now, as an adult, goin’ junkin’ is our favorite thing to do together! You could say we have built our bond over piles of junk, along with all the stories they bring.

It was only natural for me to carry that bond over to my relationship with my husband aka fixit guy, heavy stuff mover, and most recently DA (design assistant). He is such an enthusiastic treasure hunter! He has enough energy and drive to keep us both going, sometimes from sun up to sun down, with blisters on our feet. We have been known to beg antique store owners to stay open longer for us and drive several miles in anticipation of great rusty rewards! We have built such a lovely collection together and our home is a showplace of unique, shabby trophies. Each piece has a story, and when I look at each wonderful, vintage gem, my mind floods with special memories of the two junk-lovin’ men in my life.

My passion to decorate goes hand in hand with my love for vintage. I decorate for the seasons and holidays, switching everything from pillows to pictures. I have spent several sleepless nights awake picturing how everything is going to fit together. I have even gotten out of bed to move things around or draw an idea out! I can’t express the satisfaction that comes from having everything “just so”.

Having things decorated just right isn’t going to change the world, but it can set the mood for fabulous and magical things to happen! The Lord put this passion in my life, He created this dream in my heart. I have prayed for years to follow God’s will, for Him to show me what He wants me to do.

This is it! I’m following my dream, with my faith and with no fear, and it’s turning out absolutely beautiful!
